Surf’s Up! image

The Decatur Surf Club has been a place for summer fun and family memories since 1959. Recently, they introduced two huge waterslides, including what is now the longest waterslide in Illinois. Seeking to capitalize on this great new membership perk and get their brand back out there to generate some buzz, Goss Advertising was asked to revitalize their marketing efforts. We started by creating a new logo and postcard/handout with a new theme and look. This simple postcard design allowed us to encapsulate a complete branding concept that we grew into a new website and integrated social media. 20 Years in Business image

Timing is everything. In the early 90's I was the art director for Black & Co. Sports. I am fortunate that I got to start working with computer graphics when the field was still relatively young. My first experience was being able to lay out a line of text in Times New Roman in Word Express, pre-Windows. As someone who physically taped together letters on transparencies for enlargement on the camera, this was beyond amazing at the time. (Stay with me kids.) The Root of a Great Brand image

Having a dream is something that we can definitely relate to. When some good friends let us in on the fact that they were pursuing theirs, we were thrilled that they let us go all out for them. Chef John had a vision that he'd been cultivating for years, and when the previous owner of one of downtown Decatur's prime restaurant spots decided to retire, John heard opportunity knocking. When the Factory Art Studios in Sullivan, IL found itself without a location, its founder, John McDevitt, made it a mission to find a space to continue the momentum built from 4 years of successful promoting of art, artists and events. After an exhaustive search for a new location, the city of Tuscola, IL came through with welcoming attitudes and a perfect building - an old bank with over 12,000 sq feet of space. Taking a few months for renovation, the newly christened Vault Arts Collective opened as a gallery/studio space and host to art related events and exhibits in August of 2013.
